Korner’s Folly, often called America’s “Strangest House,” stands proudly in Kernersville, North Carolina, and is considered one of the country’s oldest residences. This unique home features 7 stories and 22 rooms, with no two doors, windows, or hallways alike. Its quirky design includes more than 130 steps scattered throughout the house. All of them lead to Cupid’s Park, the first community theater in America, located on the very top floor.
Korner’s Folly is said to be haunted by its original owner, Jule Korner, who passed away in 1924. Visitors have often reported eerie occurrences—strange noises, footsteps, and even sightings of Jule’s ghost roaming the halls. According to legend, if you’re brave enough to spend a night alone in the house, you might hear Jule’s ghostly laughter echoing through the empty rooms. Many have tried, but only the bold return with stories of the strange happenings within its walls.
