History
The High Noon Restaurant and Saloon is one of Albuquerque’s oldest venues. Built between 1750 and 1785, the structure is said to have served as a gambling parlor and brothel. In the late 1960s, two rooms were added, and it housed a Spanish furniture maker and his retail shop. Before the restaurant was established, the original building was an apartment, last occupied by a Catholic nun. The High Noon Restaurant and Saloon began its journey in July 1974, adding to the building’s storied past.
Paranormal Activity
The Santos Room is known for supernatural events. Witnesses report seeing a Lady in the White Dress. Some hear ghostly laughter or the clinking of glasses. Bartenders claim glasses slide across the bar or float. Others report apparitions of cowboys and saloon girls vanishing into thin air. One of the most famous spirits is “The Gambler,” a cowboy seen sitting at a poker table. The sounds and sightings are still frequent to this day.
