Investigated on
The Point Lookout Lighthouse in Maryland was constructed in 1830 to help navigate ships through the waters where the Potomac River meets the Chesapeake Bay region. Throughout the Civil War period it gained importance. It served as a vantage point overlooking a Union prison camp for Confederate soldiers where many prisoners faced conditions and lost their lives. Following the war the location was transformed into Point Lookout State Park. The lighthouse itself was retired from service in 1966, but still stands today.
Many people claim they’ve seen Civil War soldiers and old lighthouse keepers making an appearance out of nowhere. One spirit that stands out is Ann Davis. She was the woman keeper and is said to roam around in a white top and blue skirt outfit most times she’s spotted. Paranormal Investigators have heard mysterious voices without bodies around them and felt sudden chills in temperature along with weird smells lingering in the air.
