Max’s Taphouse is in the historic Fells Point neighborhood of Baltimore, Maryland. It’s had a rich history since the 1800s. The building was once a restaurant, boardinghouse, brothel, and even a chicken slaughterhouse. In recent years, it was a disco and music venue. It officially opened as Max’s Taphouse in 1986. It became a key part of Baltimore’s beer culture with its wide selection of drafts, casks, and bottles.
Employees have come running up from the basement saying they witnessed headless chicken apparitions. A ghostly woman in a white dress is often seen on the third floor. Some guests have spotted a spectral man near the bar who seems to move through walls and play with beer bottles. Visitors and staff have also witnessed floating bottles as if someone was handling and moving them.
