The Myrtles Plantation is an antebellum plantation in St. Francisville, Louisiana, near Baton Rouge. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places the house dates back to the 1700s. The Myrtles Plantation, named after the crepe myrtle trees that surround the estate, is known as one of the most haunted homes in America. The plantation has been the site of numerous murders and is rumoured to be on top of an ancient Tunica Indian burial ground. Despite its eerie reputation, the Myrtles Plantation has been restored to its former glory and is now a bed and breakfast offering tours and overnight stays.
Visitors to the plantation have reported strange occurrences, including unexplained noises, apparitions, and doors that open and close on their own. Some have even claimed to have seen the ghost of a little girl who died on the grounds. But be warned, those who have stayed the night have reported feeling an unexplainable presence and have even heard the whispers of ghosts in their rooms.
